Harmony Captain (harmonycaptain.com) is a music studio management platform operated by Mark Salcedo. It is used by music teachers, parents, and students to manage lessons, scheduling, billing, and communications. References to "we," "us," or "our" in this policy refer to Mark Salcedo as the operator of this service.

2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account information: first name, last name, and email address provided during registration or invitation.
- Phone number: optionally provided to enable SMS notifications.
- Lesson and billing data: scheduling details, statements, and payment records entered by your teacher.
- Usage data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) retained for security and debugging purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To operate and maintain your account and provide the service.
- To send transactional email notifications (lesson updates, billing statements, account security alerts).
- To send SMS notifications for lesson reminders, cancellations, reschedules, event reminders, and billing statements — only if you have opted in.
- To respond to support requests sent to our contact address.
4. SMS Notifications
If you provide a phone number and opt in to SMS notifications through your profile settings, we will send you text messages related to your lessons and account. Standard message and data rates may apply.
- Message frequency varies based on your lesson schedule and account activity.
- You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by updating your preferences in your profile settings.
- Reply HELP for help. Reply START or UNSTOP to re-enable messages after opting out.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data with service providers who assist in operating the platform (such as email delivery and SMS providers) solely to provide those services. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
Mobile opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at legal@harmonycaptain.com.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed passwords. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
Harmony Captain is used by music teachers to manage minor students' lesson schedules. Minor students' information is entered and managed by their teacher and/or parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
